3505 (2024). Teanau Tuiono to the Minister for Workplace Relations and Safety: How, if at all, is WorkSafe targeting its efforts to address the risks to workers in sectors with higher rates of health-related harm?
Hon Brooke van Velden: WorkSafe delivers evidence-based activities that target the three highest health harm areas that collectively make up 75% of the burden of work-related harm: carcinogens and airborne risks (31%), musculoskeletal risks (27%) and mental ill health (17%).
WorkSafe Inspectors routinely and proactively engage with businesses on work-related health risks across the country and have undertaken over 6,000 assessments specifically relating to work-related health risks in the year to date (July 2023 to February 2024).
