3473 (2024). Hon Priyanca Radhakrishnan to the Minister for Disability Issues: On what date, if any, was the Minister first made aware of the need to limit the criteria of the disability support funding?

Hon Penny Simmonds: As per my response to question 3468(2024), I interpret “the need to limit the criteria of the disability support funding” as referring to the recent measures to better manage demand for Equipment and Modifications Services (EMS) for the 2023/24 financial year and to change flexible funding options to limit sensitive expenditure in Individualised Funding, Choice in Community Living, Enhanced Individualised Funding, Personal Budgets and Carer Support. I was first advised about these measures by Whaikaha – Ministry of Disabled People on 15 December 2023.
