3468 (2024). Hon Priyanca Radhakrishnan to the Minister for Disability Issues: Was it the Minister, her office or the Ministry who first put forward the proposal to limit the criteria of the disability support funding?

Hon Penny Simmonds: I interpret “the proposal to limit the criteria of the disability support funding” as referring to the recent measures to better manage demand for Equipment and Modifications Services (EMS) for the 2023/24 financial year and to change flexible funding options to limit sensitive expenditure in Individualised Funding, Choice in Community Living, Enhanced Individualised Funding, Personal Budgets and Carer Support. Whaikaha – the Ministry of Disabled People first proposed these measures.
