3457 (2024). Hon Jo Luxton to the Minister of Climate Change: What advice has the Minister received, as referenced in response to WPQ 1407 (2024), on progressing manifesto commitments, including advice related to getting agriculture out of the Emissions Trading Scheme, by title and date?
Hon Simon Watts: I have received a range of advice relevant to implementing a fair and sustainable pricing system for on-farm agricultural emissions that reduces emissions without sending production overseas, including the following briefings:
• BRF-3978 “Progressing amendments to the CCRA to repeal NZ ETS obligations for agriculture” - 15 December 2023
• BRF-4042 “Briefing: Options to deliver farm level emissions reporting” - 21 December 2023
• BRF-4249 “Climate Change Response Act Amendments: New Zealand Emissions Trading Scheme obligations for agriculture” - 19 February 2024
I have also received other advice, the titles of which are not in the public interest to release as they are under active consideration.
