3420 (2025). Hon Jo Luxton to the Minister of Health: What proportion of the Continuing Medical Education (CME) entitlement was utilized by Senior Medical Officers (SMOs) working in the Obstetrics and Gynaecology Service at Whakatāne Hospital over the past year, and what, if any, barriers were there to SMOs accessing these resources?
Hon Simeon Brown: Our Government is focused on delivering timely, quality healthcare for all New Zealanders. I am advised that Senior Medical Officers working in the Obstetrics and Gynaecology Service at Whakatāne Hospital accessed 213.6 hours of CME Leave, 72 hours of CME Travel, and 59.37 hours of lieu CME during 2024. I am further advised that there were no barriers to accessing CME resources.
