3407 (2026). Francisco Hernandez to the Minister for Energy: How much, if any, did the Minister’s departments, agencies, crown entities and any other bodies that the Minister is responsible for, if any, budget for the carbon neutral government programme in the 2025 calendar year?

Hon Simon Watts: EA: As an Independent Crown Entity, the Electricity Authority is not mandated under the Carbon Neutral Government Programme. The Authority does measure and report on its greenhouse gas emissions via its Annual Report: https://www.ea.govt.nz/documents/8633/Annual_Report_202425.pdf EECA: "EECA budgeted $3,150,000 in grant funding related expenditure over the 2025 calendar year to support other organisations to deliver under the Carbon Neutral Government Programme (M037). EECA also budgeted $5,500 over the 2025 calendar year to comply with the Carbon Neutral Government Programme as an organisation."
