3402 (2026). Francisco Hernandez to the Minister for Energy: How much, if any, did the Minister’s departments, agencies, crown entities and any other bodies that the Minister is responsible for, if any, spend on the carbon neutral government programme in the 2025 calendar year?

Hon Simon Watts: EA: As an Independent Crown Entity, the Electricity Authority is not mandated under the Carbon Neutral Government Programme. The Authority does measure and report on its greenhouse gas emissions via its Annual Report: https://www.ea.govt.nz/documents/8633/Annual_Report_202425.pdf EECA: "EECA spent $3,066,240.97 in grant funding related expenditure over the 2025 calendar year, to support other organisations to deliver under the Carbon Neutral Government Programme (M037) . EECA has also spent $7,553 to comply with the Carbon Neutral Government Programme as an organisation over the 2025 calendar year."
