3369 (2026). Francisco Hernandez to the Prime Minister: How much, if any, did the Minister’s departments, agencies, crown entities and any other bodies that the Minister is responsible for, if any, spend on the carbon neutral government programme in the 2025 calendar year?
Rt Hon Christopher Luxon: In my capacity as the Prime Minister, I am the responsible minister for the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet (DPMC). The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) was a departmental agency hosted by DPMC to 24 September 2025.
I am advised DPMC and NEMA budgeted $24,092.00 for the Carbon Neutral Government Programme and spent $18,056.00 (NEMA up to 24 September 2025) on the Programme in 2025.
DPMC has not made specific budget provision for the Programme in 2026. It is expected that the cost for the 2026 year will be similar to the previous year.
I am advised that DPMC is a participant in the Carbon Neutral Government Programme.
