3295 (2026). Francisco Hernandez to the Minister of Defence: How much, if any, did the Minister’s departments, agencies, crown entities and any other bodies that the Minister is responsible for, if any, spend on the carbon neutral government programme in the 2025 calendar year?

Hon Judith Collins: In calendar year 2025, the New Zealand Defence Force incurred $54,378 in costs related to the measurement, verification, and reporting of GHG emissions to comply with the requirements of the Carbon Neutral Government Programme. The Ministry of Defence’s planned and actual spend on the Carbon Neutral Government Programme is set out in the attached table. The 2026 information is an estimate as internal budgets for 2026/27 are not yet finalised.
