Hon Willow-Jean Prime to the Minister of Education: How many initial teacher education places did University of Canterbury | Te Whare Wānanga o Waitaha receive School Onsite Training Programme funding for in each of primary and secondary school programmes, listed by each year funding was recevied for?

Hon Erica Stanford: I am advised by the Ministry of Education that the University of Canterbury received School Onsite Training programme (SOPT) funding for two secondary initial teacher education places in 2026. All initial teacher education providers applied for SOPT places according to their capacity.
