3227 (2026). Hon Willow-Jean Prime to the Minister of Education: How many initial teacher education places did Open Polytech | Kuratini Tuwhera receive School Onsite Training Programme funding for in each of their primary and secondary school programmes, listed by each year funding was recevied for?

Hon Erica Stanford: I am advised by the Ministry of Education that Open Polytechnic received School Onsite Training Programme (SOPT) funding for 29 initial teacher education places in 2026. This included 16 primary places, 13 secondary places, and one Māori medium secondary place. All initial teacher education providers applied for SOPT places according to their capacity.
