3224 (2026). Hon Willow-Jean Prime to the Minister of Education: How many initial teacher education places did Victoria University of Wellington | Te Herenga Waka receive School Onsite Training Programme funding for in each of their primary and secondary school programmes, listed by each year funding was recevied for?

Hon Erica Stanford: I am advised by the Ministry of Education that Victoria University of Wellington Te Herenga Waka received School Onsite Training Programme (SOPT) funding for eight initial teacher education places in 2025. This comprised of four primary places and four secondary places. In 2026 they received funding for 15 secondary places. All initial teacher education providers applied for SOPT places according to their capacity.
