3206 (2026). Hon Jan Tinetti to the Minister for Workplace Relations and Safety: What, if any, is the scope, duration, and cost of the training being “rolled out to support the consistent application of these changes” for WorkSafe frontline staff?

Hon Brooke van Velden: I am advised that WorkSafe New Zealand is delivering targeted training to support the consistent application of updated enforcement policies, including changes to decision making frameworks, investigation milestones, quality control processes, and the use of enforcement tools. Training is being delivered in phases, which began in December 2025 and will continue through early 2026, alongside business-as-usual training activity. The training is being delivered within existing operational and training budgets.
