3201 (2026). Hon Rachel Brooking to the Minister for Food Safety: What consultation, if any, has occurred with small and medium-sized meat processors on the costs and feasibility of employing and training their own meat inspectors?

Hon Andrew Hoggard: Public consultation on the draft Animal Products Notices closed on 23 January 2026. The Ministry for Primary Industries is currently considering all submissions and feedback received, including submissions received from small and medium-sized meat processors.
