3196 (2026). Hon Rachel Brooking to the Minister for Food Safety: When the decision is made on whether to transfer meat inspection responsibilities from AsureQuality to meat processing companies, will this be made by the Ministry for Primary Industries or the Minister?

Hon Andrew Hoggard: The Ministry for Primary Industries has the authority to specify meat inspection responsibilities within notices for both the domestic and export markets.
