3194 (2025). Francisco Hernandez to the Minister for Children: How many personal grievance cases, broken down by success status, if any, were filed in the Ministers departments, if any, in the 2023 calendar year?

Hon Karen Chhour: I am advised by Oranga Tamariki that they received 28 personal grievances over the 2023 calendar year. Of these: • Six were settled during Ministry of Business Innovation and Employment (MBIE) mediation. • Three were settled post attendance at MBIE mediation. • Three were settled via internal settlement agreement. • Nine were closed without reaching settlement. • Five were resolved informally. • Two have yet to be concluded.
