3147 (2024). Hon Priyanca Radhakrishnan to the Minister for Disability Issues: Will the changes to the Purchasing Rules and Equipment and Modification Services announced on 18 March result in a change to the criteria for needs assessment?

Hon Penny Simmonds: I am advised that the criteria for a Needs Assessment or a Re-Assessment, through the local NASC organisation, has not changed since 18 March 2024. Since 18 March 2024, requests for Equipment and Modification Services have needed to be prioritised and a priority rating allocated to each service request by the persons EMS assessor (an allied health professional working with the person). Priority One applications are for disabled people with solutions that are needed urgently, and they access funding first.
