Hon Karen Chhour: In my capacity as Minister for Children, I have received the following relevant briefings relating to the labelling young people as young serious offenders or YSOs: • B-0028 - Options for a young serious offender category (19 December 2023) • B-0107 - Young serious offenders and military-style academies (18 March 2024) • Regulatory Impact Statement Young serious offender declaration and military-style academies (1 May 2024) Please note that Oranga Tamariki has been progressively releasing information concerning military-style academies and the young serious offender declaration category on their website.
