3138 (2025). Tamatha Paul to the Minister for Children: What written evidence or research, if any, has been received by the Minister’s office, on the institutionalisation of young people by title and date?

Hon Karen Chhour: In June 2024, I received one piece of written evidence/research on the institutionalisation of young people titled Whanaketia, the final report of the Royal Commission of Inquiry into Abuse in State Care and the Care of Faith-based Institutions. Whanaketia contains extensive findings of institutionalisation and associated recommendations.
