3136 (2025). Dr Lawrence Xu-Nan to the Minister for Children: Does Oranga Tamariki keep historic data on how many, if any, children do not have a social worker allocated to them at a given time?

Hon Karen Chhour: I am advised by Oranga Tamariki that historic data about children who have not yet been allocated a social worker is retained. However, following a recent transition from the MSD hosted to an Oranga Tamariki hosted data warehouse, I am advised that work needs to be undertaken to re-develop code required to report on much of the historic data. I am further advised that the specific details of any data request would need to be known in order for Oranga Tamariki to confirm whether their systems could provide the data.
