Hon Dr Duncan Webb to the Minister of Justice: Is the Minister confident that the list of "identified gangs" specified in schedule 2 of the Gangs Legislation Amendment Bill captures all of those organisations which would commonly be recognized by members of the public as gangs and which they might expect would otherwise be subject to the legislation?

Hon Paul Goldsmith: Yes, the list of 41 gangs is drawn from the Prohibition of Gang Insignia in Government Premises Act 2013 and the Bill provides a mechanism for that list to be updated by Order in Council when required.
