3077 (2025). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What is he doing to address pay equity issues for staff at primary maternity facilities in rural areas, if anything?

Hon Simeon Brown: Our Government is focused on delivering timely, quality healthcare for all New Zealanders. As the Member will be aware, Health New Zealand purchases services from maternity providers. I am advised that Health New Zealand is not responsible for negotiating and agreeing wage rates for the employees that deliver these services.
