Darleen Tana to the Minister for Oceans and Fisheries: Does he stand by his statement that he will “ensure aquaculture and commercial fishing are well and truly advocated for”; if so, how, if at all, does he intend to ensure decisions made by the Minister for Resources relating to seabed mining do not adversely affect the interests of fisheries?

Hon Shane Jones: Yes. Where there are overlapping interests in the seabed, I will seek advice from my officials.
