3003 (2025). Hon Jo Luxton to the Minister of Transport: What steps, if any, are being taken to address the condition of public infrastructure such as bridges and roading on the East Coast and to ensure continued safe access for communities?

Hon Chris Bishop: NZTA is expected to focus on building and maintaining our state highway roading network, inclusive of any infrastructure such as bridges, in line with the expectations set out in the Government Policy Statement on land transport 2024. Gisborne District Council is responsible for maintaining the local road network.
