2980 (2025). Hon Jo Luxton to the Minister for Biosecurity: How many times, if any, has the Minister communicated with the Poultry Industry Association since August 1, 2024, regarding the preparedness for a potential H5N1 incursion?

Hon Andrew Hoggard: My officials have been in regular contact with the poultry industry groups including the Poultry Industry Association and the Egg Producers Federation, regarding the preparedness for H5N1 and as part of the recent response to H7 avian influenza in Otago. I met with representatives from the industry three times in 2024, with one meeting taking place after 1 August 2024.
