2958 (2026). Hon Jo Luxton to the Minister for Biosecurity: Has he or his agency assessed the impact of Corbicula fluminea on drinking water quality, including potential future risks to the safety of drinking water supplies arising from eutrophication or mass die-off events?

Hon Andrew Hoggard: I am advised that Earth Sciences New Zealand and Lincoln Agritech are undertaking programmes of research to better understand current and potential impacts of Corbicula fluminea on water quality in New Zealand.
