2947 (2025). Arena Williams to the Minister for Rail: Has KiwiRail indicated to the Minister any planned shutdowns or blockage of rail lines in the Wellington Region for the New Zealand summer of 2025/26, if yes, when?

Rt Hon Winston Peters: Each year KiwiRail makes use of the quieter summer holiday period to shut the rail network to commuter trains and complete essential maintenance and improvement works. The summer of 2025/26 will be no different. The detailed programme of work will be confirmed later in the year.
