2914 (2026). Hon Jo Luxton to the Minister for Biosecurity: What, if any, expectations for the yellow-legged hornet are there to recheck areas already searched, including how and when all green spaces, such as parks and reserves are checked?
Hon Andrew Hoggard: I am advised that traps and feeding stations will be maintained in areas from which nests and queens have been removed. If further workers are detected in these areas, track and trace activities will be re-initiated to identify and destroy the nests they are servicing. Surveillance and public awareness activities, in both urban and green spaces, is key to determining the success of eradication.
