2912 (2025). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What measures, if any, is he taking to ensure that the 1000 American doctors reportedly interested in working in New Zealand can navigate the medical registration process efficiently?

Hon Simeon Brown: Our Government is focused on delivering timely, quality healthcare for all New Zealanders. Officials continue to work closely with the Medical Council of New Zealand on opportunities to improve registration pathways for medical practitioners. As the Member will be aware from media reports, recent changes include the Medical Council announcing increases to capacity to sit the NZREX Clinical exam across 2025.
