2901 (2024). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What actions, if any, have been taken in the last quarter to scale General Practice Education Programme (GPEP) places to 300 by 2026?

Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised that in October-December 2023, offer letters for 2024 were sent by the Royal New Zealand College of General Practitioners (RNZCGP) to successful candidates. I am further advised that during the Oct-Dec quarter, RNZCGP were in contract negotiations to increase intake numbers to 300 by 2026.
