2846 (2024). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What actions, if any, has Te Whatu Ora taken in the last quarter to improve pay and conditions for laboratory workers?

Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised that between October and December 2023, Health New Zealand took the following actions: Settled the Allied Pay Equity claim Concluded a collective agreement with the PSA, which improved pay and conditions for a large number of Allied, Public Health, Scientific & Technical employees, including Health New Zealand-employed Laboratory Scientists, Technicians and Assistants who are members of that union, and; Concluded a collective agreement with the Association of Professional & Executive Employees (APEX) which provided improvements to the pay and conditions Health New Zealand-employed Laboratory Scientists, Technicians and Assistants who are members of that union.
