2777 (2024). Ricardo Menéndez March to the Minister of Housing: Did the Minister receive any advice regarding the changes to emergency housing announced on 6 March 2024 about the impact these changes would have on the number of people being homeless, and if so, what was that advice?

Hon Chris Bishop: I have not yet received advice on the impact that tightening the Emergency Housing gateway will have on the specific number of people who might be at risk of becoming homeless, though I am aware this is a risk. Officials are currently working through what the changes will be and will provide advice to the relevant Ministers for further changes by August 2024.
