Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Associate Minister of Health: What progress, if any, has occurred in the latest quarter towards the initiative to revitalise brief intervention training for the health sector and develop resources to support referrals to quit support, as included on page 18 of 'Getting to Smokefree 2025', as at 27 January 2025?

Hon Casey Costello: I am advised that during the October to December 2024 quarter, Health New Zealand was working with the national training service provider to re-invigorate the ABC Brief Advice approach for smoking cessation in primary and secondary care, through additional targeted engagement with the sector.
