2643 (2024). Hon Dr Duncan Webb to the Minister of Justice: Was an online workshop held in respect of a code of conduct for lobbyists, if so when was it held, who was invited, who attended, and what materials were provided or presented?

Hon Paul Goldsmith: I am advised that between July and September 2023, the Ministry facilitated a series of meetings with government relations consultants to explore the concept of a voluntary code. Summaries of these meetings, including attendee lists and materials presented and provided, are available on the Ministry’s Lobbying Project webpage here: https://www.justice.govt.nz/justice-sector-policy/key-initiatives/political-lobbying/ The Ministry hosted a further meeting on 25 January 2024 for government relations consultants to discuss their feedback on a draft voluntary lobbying code. A summary of this meeting, including an attendee list and material provided, will soon be publicly released. This will be made available on the Ministry’s Lobbying Project webpage.
