2607 (2021). Chris Bishop to the Minister for COVID-19 Response: Did Green Member of Parliament Ricardo Menéndez March apply for an Emergency Allocation in managed isolation and quarantine, if so, what category and subcategory, as listed on the MIQ website, did he apply under?
Hon Chris Hipkins: I am advised that Mr Menéndez March applied for emergency allocation in managed isolation on two separate occasions. He first applied under category 2b (a person whose entry to New Zealand is time-critical for the purpose of delivering a critical public or health service, such as the provision of specialist health services required to prevent serious illness, injury or death; or the maintenance of essential infrastructure whose failure would result in significant harm or disruption to a large number of New Zealanders) on 13 January 2021. He applied for a second time under category 2d (New Zealand and non-New Zealand citizens, where urgent travel to New Zealand is required for national security, national interest or law enforcement reasons) on 15 January 2021. Both applications were declined.
