2487 (2024). Tangi Utikere to the Minister for Oceans and Fisheries: What specific delegations, if any, has been given to the Parliamentary Under-Secretary to the Minister for Oceans and Fisheries?

Hon Shane Jones: I have delegated the following responsibilities to the Parliamentary Under-Secretary to the Minister for Oceans and Fisheries: 1. Representing New Zealand in international fisheries governance fora. 2. New Zealand contributions to international initiatives and the domestic implementation of New Zealand’s international obligations, as requested by me. 3. Engaging with domestic oceans and fisheries stakeholders, and attending and providing portfolio representation at domestic stakeholder events, as requested by me. 4. Responding to certain ministerial correspondence and official information requests. 5. Other initiatives, as agreed from time to time by myself and the Parliamentary Under-Secretary to the Minister for Oceans and Fisheries.
