Camilla Belich to the Minister of Health: How many cases of workplace bullying resulted in financial settlements, compensation payments, or ex gratia payments in each calendar year since 2015 in relation to any staff, employees, secondees, contractors, or office holders for whom the Minister has responsibility in connection with the portfolio, if any?

Hon Simeon Brown: I am advised by the Ministry of Health that the information requested for this period is not available in an easily reportable format and would require a substantial manual collation exercise and divert staff from their core duties. In accordance with Speaker’s Ruling 210-6, I consider that the time, and hence the expense, of answering the Member’s question is not in the public interest. I refer the Member to the attached table for the total number of settlements or payouts made by Health New Zealand in relation to bullying and harassment claims from 1 July 2022 to 30 June 2025. Health NZ does not hold data prior to its establishment on 1 July 2022.
