2399 (2025). Cushla Tangaere-Manuel to the Minister for Tourism and Hospitality: What discussions, if any, has the Minister had with local councils about any potential impact of digital nomads on regional tourism infrastructure?

Hon Louise Upston: I have not had discussions with local councils on the potential impact on regional tourism infrastructure related to the changes to the visitor visa announced on 27 January. I have however met with a range of tourism stakeholders and operators across the last two weeks who have shared their support and enthusiasm for the change.
