2324 (2025). Hon Phil Twyford to the Minister of Immigration: Did she instruct officials to ensure Pacific labour-sending governments were notified of the policy changes in advance of their announcement in August 2024?

Hon Erica Stanford: These were verbal conversations held over six months ago. From my recollection and those of my advisor it was clear that Pacific governments involved in the RSE scheme needed to be notified of the changes before the public announcement. I note that I am advised that the previous Government only informed these nations about the previous changes approximately an hour before the announcement.
