Hon Willow-Jean Prime to the Minister for Children: How many, if any, Oranga Tamariki community provider contracts have been renewed since July 2024 with the condition that only 70% of the maximum value of the contract is paid until the services have been provided in full, listed by provider name and service provided?

Hon Karen Chhour: None. I am advised by Oranga Tamariki that there has been an approach for some care services where they have purchased eight to nine months of capacity upfront. I am further advised that the remaining three months of provision in the financial year will then be agreed with the provider on reporting of utilisation and forecasted demand for the remaining three months, reducing the burden of reconciliation at year end.
