Camilla Belich to the Minister of Education: How many individuals received formal disciplinary sanctions short of dismissal or termination following findings of workplace bullying in each calendar year since 2015 in relation to any staff, employees, secondees, contractors, or office holders for whom the Minister has responsibility in connection with the portfolio, if any?

Hon Erica Stanford: The information sought by the Member is not collated by the Ministry of Education or the Education Review Office in a way that is readily reportable in the timeframe available to respond to written parliamentary questions. It would not be in the public interest to divert staff from their cores roles to undertake the reserach and collation required. The New Zealand Qualifications Authority has had three cases of alleged workplace bullying but no confirmed cases, and no individuals received formal disciplinary actions following the allegations. Education New Zealand has not had any recorded instances of workplace bullying from 2015 to 2025.
