2193 (2026). Camilla Belich to the Minister of Customs: How many cases of workplace bullying resulted in financial settlements, compensation payments, or ex gratia payments in each calendar year since 2015 in relation to any staff, employees, secondees, contractors, or office holders for whom the Minister has responsibility in connection with the portfolio, if any?
Hon Casey Costello: I am advised that the New Zealand Customs Service (Customs) has reached three financial settlements in relation to bullying and harassment complaints during the period 1 January 2015 to 31 December 2025.
The total value of these financial settlements for this period is $70,757.50. In 2022, a total value of $2,500 was made as a result of one case of bullying and in 2024, a total value of $68,257.50 was made as a result of two cases of bullying.
