2116 (2024). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What measures, if any, does Te Whatu Ora have to assess progress against it's goal to significantly reduce attrition out of nursing training programmes by 20%?

Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised that Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora does not have a target of 20% reduction in attrition from nursing programmes. However, Health New Zealand is aiming to reduce attrition including by investing in student scholarships; by working with tertiary providers on placement experience, and by offering a voluntary bonding scheme.
