2107 (2026). Tamatha Paul to the Minister of Police
Written Question
Published date: 18 Feb 2026
2107 (2026). Tamatha Paul to the Minister of Police: What is the ratio for charges versus warnings given for disorderly behaviour offences between September 2024 – September 2025 broken down by ethnicity?
Hon Mark Mitchell: I refer the Member to the attached table, which shows the ethnicity of people who have been proceeded against for offences classified under the Australian and New Zealand Standard Offence Classification (ANZSOC) Subdivision – ‘122 Disruptive conduct’, broken down by the percentage of proceedings that resulted in a charge and the percentage that resulted in a warning, for each ethnicity between 1 September 2024 and 30 September 2025.
I am advised that ANZSOC Subdivision – ‘122 Disruptive conduct’ includes disorderly and offensive behaviour offences and also covers trespass within this subdivision.
I am further advised that there are limitations to ethnicity recording. Only one ethnicity can be recorded per individual, and if a person identifies with an ethnicity that is not listed, their ethnicity is recorded as ‘Other’. An individual may commit multiple offences during this period and will be counted once for each offence they were proceeded against for.
This is also my response to Written Parliamentary Questions 2108 and 2114 (2026).
