2107 (2024). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What measures, if any, does Te Whatu Ora have to assess progress against its goal to reduce attrition out of midwifery programmes by 30%?

Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised that Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora does not have a target of a 30% reduction on attrition. However, Health New Zealand aims to reduce attrition out of midwifery programmes, including by investing in student scholarships and by working with tertiary providers on placement experience.
