2039 (2026). Hon Dr Megan Woods to the Minister of Foreign Affairs: What correspondence, if any, has the New Zealand Government sent or received, with the United States Government regarding a critical minerals framework, by date?

Rt Hon Winston Peters: I have been advised that the United States Embassy provided New Zealand officials with a draft Critical Minerals Framework in December (December 1 to be precise), to consider signing. New Zealand officials have been in correspondence with their US counterparts on critical minerals since then both through MBIE and MFAT and the US Embassy in Wellington and the New Zealand Embassy in Washington DC. Substantive meetings are listed in response to WPQ 2045 (2026).
