1955 (2026). Tangi Utikere to the Minister of Transport: What reports or feedback, if any, has he or his predecessor received from councils outside Wellington regarding uncertainty over land acquisition, including parks, reserves, town belt land, or other council-owned property, for roading projects?

Hon Chris Bishop: I am advised that councils have queried land acquisition processes for parks, reserves and other public land. Property manuals set out the legal and engagement framework and recent correspondence shows examples of local authority engagement outside Wellington.
