1949 (2026). Tangi Utikere to the Minister of Transport: What concerns, if any, have been raised by councils outside Wellington regarding crime prevention through environmental design, personal safety, or pedestrian safety arising from new transport infrastructure?

Hon Chris Bishop: Ministers and officials meet with councils regularly. Where Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) or pedestrian safety concerns have been raised outside Wellington, officials have followed up through existing safety programmes and clearer processes.
