1946 (2026). Hon Kieran McAnulty to the Minister of Housing: What was the cost, if any, for the Kāinga Ora investigation into the December 2024 protected disclosure case involving contracting processes?

Hon Chris Bishop: Kāinga Ora – Homes and Communities advises me that it incurred costs for a specialist barrister to carry out the required investigation; this was an external consultant who worked with Kāinga Ora legal team as a secondee for a defined period to manage this piece of work along with other unrelated projects. Due to the scope of the person’s work, we are unable to extract costs.
