1938 (2025). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What progress, if any, has been made in the quarter July to September 2024 to ‘Invest in workforce, technology and treatment capacity for radiation oncology’ under Outcome 4: New Zealanders have better cancer survival, supportive care and end-of-life care, as part of the New Zealand Cancer Action Plan 2019 – 2029?
Hon Simeon Brown: Our Government is focused on delivering timely, quality healthcare for all New Zealanders. This includes New Zealanders living with cancer. I am advised that good progress was made during that quarter, which ultimately led to my recent announcement of a new Linear Accelerator machine at Hawke's Bay Hospital.
